University of Queensland offers Scholarship in Engineering for pursuing 3rd year. An applicant is eligible for the scholarship, if the applicant does not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean considers to be similar and will be enrolled full-time in the final or penultimate year of the program in the year of the award. The value of the scholarship is approximately half of the annual income from the award fund. The application deadline is 6th December 2013.. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage and support a final or penultime year student in an approved undergraduate Engineering program, including the Bachelor of Enginering dual program and the integrated Bachelor of Engineering / Master of Engineering who undertakes research on a topic related to geothermal energy..  Scholarships are available for pursuing 3rd year at University of Queensland.
The research areas of this scholarship are:  Scholarships are provided for thesis or project proposal on a topic relating to geothermal energy to a student in approved undergraduate Engineering program, including the Bachelor of Engineering dual program and the integrated Bachelor of Engineering / Master of Engineering; scholarship means the Patricia Byrne Geothermal Energy Scholarship in Engineering at University of Queensland in Australia.
Who can apply to this scholarship? An applicant is eligible for the scholarship, if the applicant

· submits an application to the Associate Dean, by the closing date for applications; and
· is a domestic student within the meaning of the Fee Rules; and
· is enrolled full
· time in the sixth semester of an approved undergraduate Engineering program; and
· achieved a cumulative GPA greater than 5 during the first 5 semesters of the program; and
· has submitted a Thesis or Project proposal on a topic related to geothermal energy; and
· does not hold another scholarship that the Associate Dean considers to be similar; and
· will be enrolled full
· time in the final or penultimate year of the program in the year of the award.
Benefits of the scholarship:  $4,000 approximately for 1 year. The value of the scholarship is approximately half of the annual income from the award fund. The Queensland Geothermal Energy Centre of Excellence will contribute an equal amount to the value of the scholarship.
More information about the fellowship:
Duration:  The recipient may hold the scholarship for 1 year, subject to the recipient continuing to be enrolled full- time in the final or penultimate year of an approved undergraduate Engineering program.
Number of scholarships:  The Senate may award 1 scholarship in a year on the recommendation of the Associate Dean.
