The 3ME Faculty trains committed engineering students, PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers in groundbreaking scientific research in the fields of mechanical, maritime and materials engineering. 3ME is the epitome of a dynamic, innovative faculty, with a European scope that contributes demonstrable economic and social benefits. The Delft Centre for Systems and Control (DCSC) coordinates the education and research activities in systems and control at Delft University of Technology. The mission of DCSC is to conduct fundamental research in systems dynamics and control and pursue advanced technology development in mechatronics and microsystems, sustainable industrial processes, transportation systems, and physical imaging systems. The group also actively participates in the Dutch Institute of Systems and Control (DISC).

-We are looking for a motivated candidate who has successfully completed a PhD programme in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or the equivalent, with a strong background in System Identification and/or Machine Learning. -Experience with nonlinear (including LPV) systems, identification and control, support vector machines and statistics is highly advantageous. -The candidate should be willing to start on short notice, preferably in January 2012. -A good command of the English language is required.
