Victoria University is inviting applications for English Literature scholarship available for New Zealand citizens and permanent residents only. The scholarship will be available for undertaking Honours, Masters or PhD studies at Victoria University or at an approved overseas institution (for students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University). The value of the Scholarship will be approximately $1,000. The successful applicant will be chosen on the basis of their academic transcript and an application form. The application deadline is 31 March 2015.. This Scholarship has been established by Lloyd Geering in memory of his wife Elaine Geering. Elaine, who was undertaking a PhD in English Literature at Victoria up until the time of her death in 2001, was particularly interested in Old English and Medieval Literature.. Scholarships are available for pursuing Honours, Masters or PhD studies at Victoria University or at an approved overseas institution (for students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University).
The research areas of this scholarship are: Scholarships are awarded in Medieval, Old English or New Zealand literature.
Who can apply to this scholarship? The Scholarship shall be open to: a) students undertaking Honours, Masters or PhD studies in Medieval, Old English, or New Zealand literature at Victoria University, including students transferring from other universities; or b) students who have completed their undergraduate studies at Victoria University and are enrolled in postgraduate study of Medieval, Old English, or New Zealand literature at an approved overseas institution.
Benefits of the scholarship: The value of the Scholarship will be approximately $1,000.
